Now that February has turned to March, and the snow has melted away (fingers crossed), - the time has come to make some fun summer plans! But what are you to do when the span from one school year to the next feels miles long... and those important skills necessary for school, play, and LIFE start to lag behind? Maybe your mind drifts to thoughts of attention skills, direction following, speech sounds, sensory regulation, relationship building, language expression, gross motor skills, reading + writing, or play skills... But we at Way to Grow are firm believers that summer doesn’t have to mean PAUSING the learning + exploring - summer can be a great time to buckle up and SPEED ON AHEAD!

Speech and Language Evaluations + Therapy ServiceS

Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy offers comprehensive speech/language evaluations completed with use of formalized assessment tools. Our thorough evaluations assess articulation/phonology of speech sound development, language, voice, fluency, and social pragmatic skills.

Personalized therapy plans and goals, including the frequency of therapy and length of therapy sessions, are then generated based on results of formalized testing and each client’s specific needs.

Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy is honored to work with kiddos who present with various, unique strengths and skill sets. Occupational Therapy Evaluations + Therapy ServiceS

Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy offers a comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, completed with use of formalized assessment tools. Occupation is often referring to a person’s job— but the bigger meaning is any activity you do that has MEANING or VALUE! Our occupational therapy services are aimed at evaluating + supporting all the occupation, your little one desires.

Physical Therapy Evaluations +Therapy Services

Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy offers a comprehensive play-based, strengths-based, child-led approach to physical therapy evaluations, completed with use of formalized assessment tools. Our thorough pediatric evaluations assess developmental milestones, movement patterns, gross motor strength, balance, and coordination of the pediatric client through assessment and observation. Physical therapy offers insight to support and enhance the pediatric client’s ability to perform gross motor skills that allow for ease of daily routines. Physical therapy evaluations for all children, birth to 18 years old, are provided to support your questions and concerns and optimize your child’s long-term potential.

Personalized therapy plans and goals, including the frequency of therapy and length of therapy sessions, are then generated based on results of individualized assessment and each client’s specific strengths and needs.

Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy is honored to work with kiddos who present with various, unique strengths and skill sets. Our physical therapy specialty areas include: Infant development, developmentally supportive care to facilitate milestones and functional skills, trauma informed care approach for infant follow up post hospitalization, developmental delay, torticollis, brachial plexus injury, club foot pre and post casting, down syndrome and other chromosomal or genetic disorders, hypotonia, cerebral palsy, other birth related injury/concerns, drug exposure in utero and any history of medically complexities impacting development. We also offer services to address neuromotor or movement concerns, as well as abnormalities of gait and motor performance, including, but not limited to, toe-walking, in-toeing, motor coordination disorder, and primitive reflex integration. 

Feeding Evaluations + Therapy Services

Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy conducts evaluations for infants and children presenting with a multitude of feeding and swallowing concerns. Infant feeding evaluations offer a collaborative, developmental approach to optimizing both breast and bottle feeding. The comprehensive evaluation assesses a child’s oral motor skills, positioning, swallow function, and sensory processing related to eating and drinking.

Our skilled therapists then generate a client-specific plan of care to appropriately target oral motor or sensory feeding concerns present. Infant developmental feeding treatment is focused on supporting positive feeding experiences through a cue based, infant led approach.

Therapy can focus on bottle/breast feeding, appropriate positioning supports/strategies, open cup drinking, straw drinking, oral motor strengthening, spoon feeding, biting/chewing solids, and exploring different food groups and textures.

AUDIOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS

Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy offers audiological evaluations to assess for any hearing loss that may be hindering to your child’s abilities to hear and follow directions, distinguish sounds necessary for clear communication, and connect to the world around them. Our audiological evaluations take place at Schramm Educational Center.

At Way To Grow Pediatric Therapy we believe in being learners of of our children! What makes them tick? How do they perceive the world around them? Being said, hearing testing can be a crucial step to understand your child and they way they take in the sounds in their environment.

Hearing testing can also be a way to rule out hearing loss, if your child is not yet responding to directions or having trouble with certain speech sounds. Being equipped with information regarding your child’s hearing will empower you to better understand your child, and learn helpful strategies to support development!
